Pep Guardiola admitted that Tottenham Hotspur were simply the better team on the day as goals from Kolarov (own goal) and Dele Alli inflicted Guardiola’s first defeat at Manchester City.

“It was a tough game and Tottenham are a very good team who look like they are fighting for the title,” Pep Guardiola insisted.

“They played better, that’s all. We just have to congratulate them.”

Spurs’ victory over Manchester City sends them back to second in the league – a point adrift of Manchester City. It also means that Pochettino’s side are the only team left unbeaten in the Premier League heading into the international break.
