After many months of negotiations, it was revealed by Tottenham Hotspur earlier on that Christian Eriksen has put pen-to-paper to a new deal at the club which will keep him at Spurs until 2020.
Big news for Spurs fans. As contract talks took a long time to come to conclusion with, it was understood that Eriksen was slowly getting frustrated, as the fans were, as his frustration perhaps was evident on the pitch. Eriksen didn’t seem to be at the top of his game for many weeks now, and according to some Spurs fans, even many months! It was recently reported by The London Evening Standard that Christian Eriksen’s contract talks grew to the level of frustration to the extent where Mauricio Pochettino had to intervene in order to speed things up.
“There is a great future at this place and I wouldn’t have signed if I didn’t see that,” the Dane explained to the clubs official site upon signing the new contract. “It’s a very good group of people, players who connect with each other, staff who connect with the players and we all have an idea of where we want to go, and hopefully we’ll achieve it. If you feel there is a good project ahead of you, you will take the chance to build on it and that’s what we’re doing at Spurs.”
All Spurs fans will be relieved to learn that Christian Eriksen has finally signed a new contract at the club and will be hopeful that he can now kick start his season.
