Spurs are set to enter negotiations with Portuguese international Rafa Silva, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 23-year-old has been linked to the club, along with various other attacking midfielders. Rumors of the club being interested in Mario Gotze, Sofiane Boufal and German midfielder Yunes Malli all have surfaced in recent weeks, but it seems that talks with Rafa Silva are more advanced and look to be heading in the right direction.
Silva, who currently plays his football in the Portuguese league for S.C Braga is currently valued at around £12M, and fits all the aspects that Mauricio Pochettino would want in a player. Young and versatile, meaning he can be played in any of the three attacking positions behind the striker, which is a big advantage over some other options they may be looking at.
The promising attacking midfielder started 22 matches for Braga and recorded 8 goals and 2 assists whilst helping the side finish 4th in the league. Silva undoubtedly has potential and it is said that Pochettino is looking to bolster his midfield and sign another attacking midfielder before the league starts.
It would be unclear what type of role he would play for the side but they look to secure the Portuguese international so they can improve on depth ahead of a massive season which involves Champions League football for the first time in recent years.
